Role Purpose
The Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating risks, analyzing insurance proposals, and ensuring accurate underwriting decisions to support corporate insurance business across commercial lines.
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting & Risk Assessment
- Evaluate insurance proposals and assess risk exposure.
- Analyze client profiles, financials, and coverage requirements.
- Review policy terms, conditions, and pricing structures.
Insurer Coordination
- Liaise with insurers for quotations, negotiations, and approvals.
- Ensure timely turnaround for underwriting decisions.
- Maintain strong relationships with insurance partners.
Technical Support
- Provide underwriting guidance to sales teams.
- Assist in policy structuring and coverage optimization.
- Support complex and large corporate risk cases.
Process Management
- Ensure smooth policy issuance and documentation.
- Maintain underwriting records and compliance standards.
- Monitor turnaround time and process efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate (Insurance certification preferred).
- 3–6 years experience in General Insurance underwriting.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products such as:
Fire, Marine, Property, Liability, Engineering, Fleet, GPA, GMC. - Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
